We have just released version 2.0.0 of the MXit Pidgin plugin.
This release includes some minor bug fixes as well as:
- Avatar support – This will let you set an image of yourself which your friends will see.
- Status messages – Ability to tell all your friends what you are currently doing, and to see what they are doing.
So download it now and give it a try!

Not yet, but soon. The next release of the mobile client will also have these features.
Will you compile it for 64bit Debian/Ubuntu plz? I’m having trouble installing it on my 64bit pc. It works like a charm on 32bit
